One of the first decisions you make as a new user of HubSpot Marketing is who you will hire to onboard your portal. Will you choose to onboard through HubSpot or through a partner? We've already written a blog about the differences between onboarding through HubSpot and onboarding through a HubSpot partner. In this new blog, we outline how Webs approaches this topic.
First, let's talk about who will be involved in your onboarding process. Webs has a team of HubSpot technical advisors made up of former HubSpot employees, marketers and designers. These technical advisors are all HubSpot experts with a solid technical knowledge of the HubSpot tool and inbound methodology. In addition, all of Webs' technical advisors have performed countless onboardings. They are prepared for the most complex scenarios.
The first goal of a marketing onboarding is to technically configure the HubSpot portal in such a way that a business or individual can achieve his/her goals. Because everyone is different, the actual goal will vary from onboarding to onboarding. Where some may have purchased HubSpot to generate traffic and leads, others may have done so to send emails to a customer base. In each scenario, the basic elements of onboarding are required, but depending on the goal, additional steps are also needed.
After hundreds of onboardings, Webs has developed a series of simple steps to properly and efficiently onboard new HubSpot users.
The first and most important step of any onboarding process is the kick-off call. The kick-off call has several purposes. The most important are getting to know your HubSpot consultant and determining what the specific goals of your onboarding process are.
Upon completion of this conversation, onboarding begins. One of the more time-consuming elements of onboarding is creating page and email templates. Since this takes the most time, the Web onboarding team starts designing the templates as soon as possible. Both the page and email templates are created using the look and feel of your existing website. In doing so, we seamlessly integrate your HubSpot-hosted emails and pages into your existing website and branding. Email and page templates are created using HubSpot's drag-and-drop tools. This allows you to easily customize pages and emails without the need for developers.
Once a start is made on designing the templates, the focus shifts to the technical steps. These include a number of things that are essential to the proper functioning of your portal, such as data imports, AVG settings, installation of the analytics tool, account preferences and DNS settings. Usually these technical issues are the trickiest to set up, but the Webs consultant will assist and guide you throughout the process. Once the technical issues are taken care of, your HubSpot portal is ready to go!
The final step in the onboarding process is the evaluation with the technical advisor. We go over the steps of the onboarding process with you to verify that everything has been implemented. During this meeting, you'll also receive instructions on how to use the page and email templates you created and how to keep your HubSpot portal organized.
Generally, the Web onboarding process takes one month. After that, you'll have a HubSpot portal with which to work toward your inbound goals.
